Inspired by the maverick nature of the iFix startup, the design department was born with the appointment of a 5th official 'Head Office' employee. Newly conceived Houdt & RiCharge brands were transformed and given identities. New brands (Plus & i2) were crafted from scratch and a rebrand of the entire business was conducted with new positioning and look and feel. Through the expansion of the business, the role evolved to lead a team and absorb additional marketing responsibilities: - Aligning strategies with executive objectives, - Maintaining and monitoring various brand Images, - Determining and executing national campaigns, - Liaising with partner to manage brands PR and media, - Managing retainer relationships (blog, copywriter, Google CPC, videographer and strategic marketing)- Strategising content and maintaining all brands' social presence (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest)- Packaging and design of new to market products, dealing with printers and suppliers- Liaise with franchisees, store managers and shopfitters to co-ordinate new store openings, as well as support franchisees with ad-hoc marketing initiatives

Thriving in a creative hub, the design ladder was quickly scaled working across 9 sports titles including: SA Rugby, SA Cricket, Business Day Sport, SASCOC Olympic magazine and more.Key responsibilities included, amongst others:- Art directing and liaising photoshoots with national and international sports stars.- Redesigning 4 titles from concept to final design, as well as working with Creative Director on pitches growing the publisher's titles into new markets (men's lifestyle, tech and motor).- Setting and maintaining style-guides and templates across all sports titles.- Conceptualising covers, as well as sign off and colour pass of the final print.- Collaborating with editors, writers, photographers, digital, repro and production teams ensuring and maintaining industry-leading print titles.

Straight into the deep end for this recent graduate: magazine design and art direction of the Real Estate Investor Magazine (and quarterlies), with only the assistance of the Editor-In-Chief and the Editor. Responsibilities:Full spectrum of design + layout of the magazine through to production and printing. Setting style guides, conceptualising/selecting covers, as well as sourcing photographic and illustrative material of editorial work, to complement placement (or design, when required) of advertorial work.*Also: related collateral to support sales staff (Rate Cards, Vouchers. etc)
