We are advertising for my replacement in August.We are a private sector, member led, Chamber of Commerce and Destination Management Organisation (DMO) representing the interests of our members in the beautiful and iconic Cairngorms National Park in the North of Scotland. We work in a stunning natural landscape brought to life by its vibrant communities and successful businesses.The Cairngorms National Park is an aspirational place for people to visit, live, work, learn and invest. Our role is to make it as easy as possible for people to fulfil that aspiration.We do this through our work to:-Promote the National Park as a place to visit, live, work, learn and invest through effective marketing and management of this iconic brand. We connect our members to opportunities seamlessly and work to provide an outstanding visitor experience in this key sector.Operate as a Chamber of Commerce, ensuring business across the Park get the right support to help them to grow and fulfil their potential. We do this by providing access to learning, sharing, development and networking opportunities for members. Including our annual conference in November.We represent the private sector through strong advocacy on issues most important to members operating in the Cairngorms National Park. As part of our role, we co-ordinate the delivery of the Economic Development Strategy for the National Park. Working closely with key stakeholders such as the Cairngorms National Park Authority to maximise the significant opportunities operating in the Park bring whilst working to overcome some of the structural barriers and imbalances such as the current low wage/high property value economy of the Park.We are a strong, inclusive and influential voice for the business community in the Cairngorms National Park.

I loved leading Community Broadband Scotland, a project that has a transformational impact on how people Live, Work & Learn in remote and rural Scotland.Digital connectivity is increasingly an essential part of our everyday lives. Being part of CBS provided me with the opportunity to work with some great people focused on finding ways to close the digital divide between the hardest to reach communities and those receiving services through the ambitious DSSB project.Working with our key partners to find innovative and pioneering ways to get those communities connected we made a huge difference to how our rural communities live, work and learn.Providing world class connectivity is one of the Scottish Government’s key priorities and I was delighted to help to drive the delivery of this ambitious agenda in our hardest to reach areas.
