Hi!I'm a graduate from Sheffield Hallam University with a First Class Honours (81%) in Games Software Development BSc (Honours) w/placement. During the course I developed advanced programming skills in C++, explored computer architecture and produced applications using app/game engines. Though I realised on my placement that my true passion is web development!Fast forward x number of years and I'm now an experienced Full-Stack Web Developer who thrives on creating front-end and back-end systems. I've created online linear and non-linear shopping experiences for iconic brands such as Nike, The FA, McDonald's and JustEat using a completely bespoke CMS - designed and developed by me. Working closely with these global brands I interpret their needs and ensure these platforms are suited to the user; many of which are now serving grassroots football teams, primary schools and top tier professional referees. I enjoy taking on a clients concept and turning it in to a web application available worldwide!I’ve developed, scaled and optimised a back-end bespoke admin system to manage orders placed via 400+ online retail platforms (and still growing). From the order being placed online through to it being shipped, I have wrote bespoke code to manage its journey. I've developed tools tailored to each department within a fast growing company to improve efficiency and make the employees lives easier; from customer experience to the sales department.I'm extremely familiar with the Joomla/Virtuemart CMS as I've produced 100s of front-end customer facing stores for clients including; England Netball, Oxford University and South Shields FC. I've taken the Joomla CMS and aligned this with the above backend admin system to create a seamless experience from the front-end customer to the back-end employees.The above has given me an advanced understanding in web languages and security practices, but also knowledge when it comes to a user journey and the importance of creating bespoke applications driven towards the user in order to make the experience frictionless.I’m currently working at Kitlocker.com as the Development Team Leader; part of the Senior Management Team.I enjoy meeting new people and hearing new perspectives.
