Liquid Audio provides specialist, high-value, detail-focused service, repair and restoration of hi-fi stereo electronics and turntables.

I managed a team of 7 delivering career development learning to Curtin University students and staff. I spent too much time dealing with egos, white-anting, favouritism, things that made managing adults far more painful than managing kids, which I did very successfully for 15 years.I was responsible for a range of projects and initiatives including the Curtin Employability Award, a program aligned with the university's Employability Strategy, designed to make Curtin graduates more employable. I also looked after the Careers Challenge, a suite of online learning careers skills modules. My team delivered career skills workshops and career development learning across campus and to regional, interstate and overseas students. I also delivered lectures and learning and often received feedback that my lectures over those presented by existing staff. This was a tough gig at a tough time for me and I should have taken more notice of the revolving door through which the previous four before me passed. Various people warned me. One guy in my team who I hired and he's very welcome, laughed at me in front of the group when he tried to trip me up on a definition, trying to make me look bad in front of the team. I was given the job of letting one member of my team go because my manager didn’t want to do it. That staff member and my team hated me for it as though it was my idea. Another time at an after-hours event my manager mentioned the other two managers in the team (my colleagues) and the great work they did, but not me. I was left standing there, completely overlooked, such were the egos and games played in these silly roles. I spent a whole day rearranging things for my manager after her Dad died. Not a word of thanks or acknowledgement. This role was the toughest and least enjoyable of my career, but there were a handful of amazing people in that team and I miss them and their positive energy. They know who they are :-)

Teaching science, helping guide school ethos, representing staff on staff commitee, developing and delivering inaugural Year 7 Science course, teaching WACE Human Biology.

Initially I was a Traveling Advocate, involved in public relations and marketing for the Department of Education. I took on policy and project work, was responsible for writing and publishing the Graduate Manual for graduate teachers and for running the Overseas Teacher Recruitment Program.

Teaching the little tackers some science, keeping them safe, educating them socially and showing them how to look after and interact positively with one another.
