My name is Omar Gómez, I'm a software engineer and I love helping people to simplify complex problems before turning them into real life applications. I have 15+ year of experience building Java/Python back-end and Javascript/Mobile front-end solutions. I was one of the first engineers from Colombia who did iOS mobile development, today I also do mobile Android and help others engineers training them under these platforms.I currently work for American companies as a native mobile front-end senior developer using agile methodologies. I have also worked with innovative start-ups like Tareasplus, which is one of leading digital education companies in Latin America. I was also lucky to help "Fundación Cardiovascular de Colombia", one of the most important hospitals in the country, to create their tele-medicine solution. This solution was praised by Apple as one the best tele-medicine Apps developed in-house by a hospital using their own resources and expertise.From the most successful projects I have worked on I have found certain values that I came to appreciate the most. I consider being able to work in an iteratively fashion an important technique to reach complex goals. The most important skill of an engineer is to reduce complexity first and then take on the solution second, and that no methodology beats having a good attitude regarding the quality of our own work, and empathy towards the needs of the final user.
