I am a chemist/chemical process engineer researching and working on green, circular, and smart materials processing. I am highly experienced in cement clinker formulation and pyro processing, including the successful scale-up and pilot demonstration of the production of novel low-carbon cement clinkers on several occasions. I am responsible for pioneering the use of atmospheric control during clinker manufacture, for quality control and to produce novel clinkers. I developed the first ever thermodynamic database that is tailored specifically for cement clinkering and am experienced in kiln heat transfer modelling. I apply a wide range of computational and experimental techniques to solve engineering problems and am continuously involved in projects, promoting a circular economy, and producing cement clinker from waste; in this regard, I have also consulted for several multinational corporations.
