Hey, I’m Theo 👋 A versatile, detail-oriented Product Manager with 7+ years experience leading cross-functional teams through the discovery and development of innovative technology products and services within pre & post-PMF startups, a Fortune 500 tech company, and a UK Government Agency. My focus has been on growing consumer-facing mobile applications (e.g. Hotels.com, Depop, Eastnine), and more recently, digital financial services developed in line with GDS standards.Having learnt the crux of the Product Manager role at Expedia (Hotels.com), a mature experimentation-driven product organisation, I was able to quickly add value to the way product decisions were made at the 30-person startup Depop, leading initiatives that embedded a more user-centred and data-informed approach to product development and focussed the app around its core value proposition. At Depop it was essential to "roll up my sleeves" and operate as both a Product Manager, UX researcher, and Data Analyst to get things done, and my skillset increased exponentially. I initiated work that led to significant UX improvements (e.g. redesigned search & explore, product details, checkout, and onboarding), enabled a test and learn culture (e.g. implemented A/B testing of search results), and tackled key strategic challenges (e.g. off-marketplace-transactions and trust), ultimately helping the business to experience hyper-growth (i.e. GMV and revenue increased >100%+ YoY).I took a career break after Depop, completing the London Marathon in May 2019 before spending time studying traditional yoga, volunteering, and undertaking some freelance consulting. I have since explored opportunities to apply my product management and UX research skillset to organisations with worthwhile, people and community-based missions. This led me to Homes England, where I was responsible for designing and launching new digital financial services to support home ownership initiatives and a short spell at the FitTech business Eastnine, where we attempted pivoting to a marketplace model before being acquired.As a PM I take a beginner’s mindset and err on the side of clarity. Product is a team sport and I like to help my teams feel empowered, take accountability, and find innovative solutions to user problems. I am a passionate champion for users and seek to understand them and their behaviours in depth through the application of both qualitative and quantitative insights. I hold dual citizenship with both a UK and EU (Irish) passport and would be open to exploring roles based outside of the UK.
