While attending high school at Pike in Indianapolis, IN, Anthony McClung was a three-star recruit by Rivals.com and Scout.com, and was listed as the No. 13 player in Indiana by Rivals.com. As one of the top-200 receivers in the country by Scout.com, Anthony won the Conference Indiana title as a senior in 2009 and as a sophomore in 2007. Anthony was also a two-time all-Conference Indiana selection, was named all-Marion County and all-State, and was a member of the Indiana Super Team.McClung had a lot of playing time his Freshmen year at Cincinnati. He had 22 receptions for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns. In his first ever college game against Oklahoma he had 4 receptions for 58 yards.In 2012, Anthony pulled in one catch for 26 yards against USF, tallied three catches for 42 yards against Rutgers, had a catch for 29 yards against Temple, earned five receptions for 75 yards vs. Syracuse, had a catch for two yards and a 15-yard punt return against Louisville, caught two passes for 29 yards including a 21-yard catch against Toledo, caught four passes for 55 yards vs. Miami, returned three punts against Virginia Tech, matched previous record with a 29-yard punt return, and broke career-long punt return by one yard with 29-yard run back vs. Pittsburgh.During his senior year, McClung put up solid numbers. Anthony pulled in 6 catches for 94 yards against Illinois, had 3 receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown against Northwestern State, caught 7 passes for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns vs. Temple, ran up 115 yards against Rutgers, and had another great game with 137 yards and 9 catches against Houston. Anthony played in 10 games for Cincinnati in his Senior year and recorded 72 receptions for 939 yards and 5 touchdowns. He averaged 82.7 all purpose yards per game and continued to show consistency in bettering his overall game, as seen year to year. Anthony McClung was signed by the Houston Texans immediately following the 2014 NFL Draft.
