Cultural Arts Administrator
CurrentAs the Cultural Arts Administrator, I plan, direct, and coordinate the work plan for the Arts & Culture Program and ensures that the program is in alignment with City and Department's policies, goals and strategic plan. As a member of the Park Planning & Cultural Arts Division of the Parks and Recreation Department, I work directly with planning, construction management and other staff to oversee the development of integrated art projects. In addition, I collaborate with the Departmental Engagement and Events Administrator to incorporate public art into large scale community events as well as to plan, produce, and promote arts programs through marketing and sponsorships. I am also the staff liaison to the Arts & Culture Commission.RESPONSIBILITIES:- Develop calls, selection processes, contracts for public artists and related contractors for contemporary art and interactive media and digital arts.- Maintain the public art collection.- Plan collaboratively with internal teams to implement the Cultural Corridor Plan to invigorate Downtown Redmond with art through events and social practice.- Partner with team members to develop the vision and design advice for community-wide cultural programs and events- Implement cultural arts programs such as the artist-in-residence, poet laureate, Moving Art Center, and the Art Season Grant giving program.- Maintain and develop relationships with community arts organizations and partners- Develop arts and cultural advocacy strategies.- Lead policy development including updates to the cultural arts sections of the Parks, Arts, Recreation, Culture, and Conservation Plan, the Public Art Plan and more.- Manage the Arts & Culture budget, cost of service for the cultural arts program, and prepare budget offers during the city budgeting process.- Evaluate internal and external funding sources, and research and prepare grant applications and manage grant contracts.
