Lagniappe is a commonly used word in the New Orleans region to describe an unexpected gift or service. In short, it's a little something extra.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------While working for Goodwill Industries of Southeastern WIsconsin I made a suggestion that enhanced the silent auction portion of Goodwill’s annual fashion show fundraiser.The suggestion - Each of our Goodwill donation stores would “donate” a unique item for the silent auction. The store that generated the highest bid from their donation received a pizza party at their store. It generated a buzz of excitement at the stores and showcased the treasures one may come across while shopping at a Goodwill store.***Another example at Goodwill Industries-The President of Goodwill Industries passed along a VIP donation pick-up to the Retail /Donation Division . He requested that I be there for this donation pick-up because he wanted to make sure that the job received “ my white glove treatment”***While with the Master Gardeners of Southeastern WIsconsin-After the end of hot summer gardening season as a Garden Chairperson I organized a social outing for all the volunteer gardeners that worked at the garden. It was a wonderful bonding experience and became part of the garden season after that year.***Currently I work at Good Harvest Market, a natural food store with a wonderful cafe. It’s backdrop is a nature preserve located in Pewaukee, WI. It is a lovely place to visit! You can shop for delicious and healthy groceries, have a bite to eat, and browse our ample wellness department.
