Process Based Studio Practise coupled with elements of visual enquiry and drawing based research. A creative practise that is interested and informed by memory landscape and the process that is growing, which takes it's impetus from signifiers in nature. An innate connection to landscape that is so much a part of Irish consciousness is one which embues the work and seeks to prove the lasting yet contemporary significance and importance of landscape painting today. The landscape becomes an abstract space that reflects some element of life that is significant to the now it is created in. It is a space to reflect and to listen in an embodied experiential way and deeply connected to a developing musical practise the work itself explores elements of musicality and often has a certain musicality in its form. Part of the process involves the recording of new music both on tin whistles guitar and human voice. An expansive and immersive practise that seeks to create work of the same expansive and transcendent quality.
