Built Hub for Employee News: Building a respected, branded intranet was a top priority—and my efforts paid off. Teams across the company vied for top placement of their content and looked to me for help telling their stories. Year-over-year, metrics demonstrated that page views for the most popular content had doubled. As the editor-in-chief of the homepage, I culled and created content, managed the editorial calendar, consulted on and designed visual marketing banners, developed policies and processes, tracked and analyzed data metrics, and worked with a cross-functional team tasked with defining the next-generation of the intranet. Refreshed Executive Communications Deliverables: I helped design and execute revamped quarterly earnings communications deliverables for web, mobile, and email. This significant redesign included a completely new aesthetic and transformed the earnings communications delivery method into a vehicle that explicitly linked relevant content to the company's priorities, with the goal of engaging and energizing employees around the direction of the company. Drove Communications Plans:I worked with teams around the globe to drive communications plans for employee engagement campaigns, such as a global employee survey that achieved the highest-ever employee participation rate of 90%. For this survey, I partnered with HR, IT, and Marketing to transform a typically boring task by leveraging existing competitiveness between the global sites in a creative campaign to encourage thoughtful participation. Produced and Starred in Video Productions:Quarterly, I produced and appeared in short video features to further strategic messaging. I owned script writing, on-camera interviews, video production, and editing direction. Crafted Newsy External Communications: I wrote newsworthy press releases and collaborated on external events for varied demographics that highlighted the company’s spirit of innovation and invention.

Innovated to Help Engineers Do Their Best Work:In order to tap into the extensive knowledge-base inside the brilliant minds of the company’s senior engineers, I conceived of and developed a popular article/video series with the goal of supporting the company’s strategy to drive continued competitive advantage through innovation. I reveled in working with senior engineers to write inspiring stories aimed at spurring ideas and providing definitive takeaway lessons for employees. Crafted Strategic Communications: I executed deliverables tied to the quarterly business results and strategic direction of the company. I drafted the CEO business update email, proofread the earnings release, and supported the production of a twenty-minute video broadcast viewed by 8,000 employees worldwide. For the video, I supported ideation, script writing, on-camera work (served as company “news anchor” and interviewed employees/executives), and directed the final edit. Earned Reader Loyalty:I cultivated readers’ trust and earned loyalty by adhering to high standards in writing news that informed and inspired, while ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and priorities. In achieving this, transforming highly complex and technical subject matter into clear, concise “must read” messages became second nature. I strengthened the brand of the intranet, which resulted in increased site traffic.

Before graduating, I jumped on the opportunity to write internal news articles for a world leader in high-performance signal processing and accepted a position as an intern at Analog Devices. I believed I would get incredible exposure and experience—and I was right. This experience set the stage for my career path and was a great foundation in building relationships with key personnel who I would come to work more closely with over the next seven years.

I assisted Sacvan Bercovitch, Harvard University literature professor and general editor of the multi-volume "Cambridge History of American Literature," with a volume in press and another volume in the research stage. I was responsible for bibliographical work, proofreading, and fact checking.
