Diplomat formed in Adelaide in 1994, initially playing as three-piece 'Rash' for several years and releasing a bunch of EPs, before acquiring a second guitarist and renaming under the new moniker.Diplomat's debut album 'Welcome Departure' (2000) opened the band to a wider audience, playing gigs around Australia with Swervedriver, McLusky and others.
