I have spent the last 15 years building four businesses in three countries - Hong Kong, the USA, and Canada.Altogether, they have generated a few hundred million dollars in revenue while also caring for the planet - people and the environment. ☘️ I was the founder and CEO of the first one and an early-stage executive in the others. What a ride!Then, in 2021 I had enough. I decided to leave behind a high-paying, adrenaline-fuelled job and start something new. How did I get here?My career started somewhat uncommonly - as a pilot and commander in the Israeli Airforce. I learned a ton about teamwork, leadership and how to plan and execute highly complicated missions. These lessons have helped me considerably in life and business.Flying is fun. But being a soldier was not for me.I choose peace!✌🏻So I left the Airforce and went on to study product design. This kicked off a creative career in product and brand management. It also took me from Israel to China and Hong Kong, where I lived for thirteen years. Several hundred product launches later, the entrepreneurial demon raised its head and kidnapped me into the startup universe. The first business, the one I founded, grew beautifully and then ... crashed ingloriously. Auch! The second one worked out well and eventually got acquired. The third never took off. The fourth? A rocketship to infinity and beyond; a hyper-growth unstoppable company.In hindsight, why my first entrepreneurial attempt ended up in the startup's graveyard is obvious. The concept was great, and the timing perfect. Customers were raving about our brand and could not live without our products. I still get messages from customers asking if, by any chance, they can still buy our products.So why did things go so wrong? Why did it fail? Me 👈🏻I was a bright visionary founder but a terrible, inexperienced entrepreneur. I sucked at business building. I did not know what to do next and was afraid to make mistakes. I was holding my business back from growing. 🤦🏻‍♂️Regrets?Just one - not having experienced entrepreneurs in my corner. I was too cheap to get a coach (Bootstrapping..), too shy to seek a mentor, and had no entrepreneurial community.What a shame. So in 2021, I set myself on a mission - helping inexperienced founders become unstoppable startup leaders.
