I manage the enterprise's data highway. This includes devices from Cisco switches, firewall, routers, wireless AP, and Riverbed appliances. From the computer to the switch and across the internet cloud is all my responsibility. Deployed Nagios, Cacti, and Netflow in order to have alerting, analysis, and traffic pattern crunching capability.Worked with Cisco ASAs, Catalyst 3560 / 3750, 4506, ISR 1841, 2620 XM, and 2811.Tools in my arsenal included Wireshark, NMAP, and Snort.When I'm free, I work on customizing our web-based Helpdesk system and experimenting with various open-source projects. Also, when I'm really free, I work on tweaking our QoS settings to improve WAN throughput through the roof thanks to our Riverbed WAN accelerator!Migrated company's private WAN from a layer 3 MPLS network to a layer 2 VPLS network. In doing so, we switched from a static-based routing topology to an EIGRP routing protocol with auto-magic VPN failover. Pretty neat stuff!Implemented an enterprise VOIP solutions utilizing Shoretel with over 250+ phones and 20+ voice switches that included an obscene amount of failover and custom call routing with full end to end QoS. We pretty much eliminated branch office PBX and simplify as well as centralized our phone system. Had a blast engineering this baby!Successfully moved the company's data center from San Francisco to a co-location with minimal downtime - 2 days to be exact with only 2 months of planning beforehand. This involved moving an entire subnet from one location to another without disrupting routing protocols, maintaining VPN services the entire time, bringing up a new core switching fabric, laying out a new streamline rack structure with copper/fiber/power, and last, but not least, a whole lot of Redbull!

I started as a helpdesk technician and was given a face-plant into the world of system administration a year later... Implemented DFS and a pretty slick backup routine using it as well. Worked with auditors to ensure SOX compliance with focus on the financial systems. Re-wrote a lot of procedures and policies along the way as well. Assisted engineers with Solidworks CAD software. Pushed for Infopath rollout on our sharepoint intranet to streamline workflow. This included implementing digital signatures so users can electronically sign the form.Went through company merger and acquisitions. That was fun.
