- Core contributor of the open-source OpenStack Swift (object storage) project since 2014. Tasks entails feature development, bug triage/fixes, code reviews, community involvement (help/answer users, collaborate with other developers).- Designed and implemented various project features to 1space, Swiftstack’s multi-cloud sync tool: improvements to Swift container crawling library, sharded-containers support, data migration from S3, enhanced sync support of large objects.- Led development of File-Connector from initial concept to prototype to product release. File-Connector is a containerized scale-out service that enable users to migrate NAS files to object storage while providing on-demand access to data with Swift/S3 API.

- Core contributor of the open-source OpenStack Swift (object storage) project.- Upstream project lead of Swift-on-File (aka Gluster-Swift) – Project that enables objects created using the Swift API to be accessed as files on a POSIX filesystem.- Contributed to major features of OpenStack Swift such as erasure code storage policy and data-at-rest encryption. Also led the efforts of an extensive re-factoring of the proxy server and the object versioning and COPY verb functionality.- Team lead of Red Hat’s Openstack Storage team, responsible for helping organize the work of 5 different squads (Cinder, Manila, Swift, Glance, Sahara) as well as guide them towards self-organization. Facilitate interactions with other Openstack projects and upper management.

- Designed and implemented a RESTful abstract command layer based on CRUD operations. Abstraction model allowed GUI developers to operate on storage objects without any knowledge of rest API.- Drove design and implementation of new authentication feature based on the CAS single sign-on protocol. Worked closely with backend team to discuss and resolve issues around server configuration and GUI sequence flow.- Contributed to the implementation of data protection features. Led engineering group to improve product usability based on user feedback and ensured timely completion of deliverables. - Designed and led implementation of numerous features for the Linux-based Lifeline management framework. Features such as Remote Access (DDNS), File-based device to device replication and NAS-to-Cloud object storage backup.- Project lead of the successful vClone software. A backup and data synchronization solution based on VMware virtualization technology.
