Working within the Horticulture Department, I care for several natural areas including some of the oldest sections of the Botanical Gardens. Within this role I must care for current plantings while also maximizing wildlife value and planning for long term canopy replacement. This involves keeping organized records, the use of some heavy equipment, as well as the oversight of Horticulturist Assistants and volunteers.

Big Leaf Design is the small scale design company I started in order to offer my services as a designer/consultant/horticulturist. As a Horticulturist I install, care for, and maintain plantings. Working within the Botaincal Gardens Team, my primary job function is to care for the produce grown within the Scotts Miracle Grow Community Garden Campus (CGC). This involves actively participating in, as well as supervising others through the tasks of planting, maintaining, and harvesting all produce grown within the approximately 2 acres of tillable land. Working with the Horticulture Technician within the CGC, I also help to maintian ornamental beds to a world-class standard.

Working as an environmental steward, I am part of a team that focuses on restoration and conservation of natural habitats with the goal of providing educational and recreational programs to build a connection between the public and the natural world. Through the use of hand tools, power tools and heavy machinery I work to improve the quality of the public's interface with the park.

Responsible for handling all product based prepping, stocking, and management for a high-volume bar only establishment. Maintains the cleanliness of storage and prep areas while also helping with general upkeep of the front of house. Interacts with the public in a friendly and helpful manner while also handling confrontational situations. Responsible for payment and intake of the weekly shipment by multiple vendors. Subject to constant movement and heavy lifting (up to 160lbs).

Responsible for maintaining the gardens at the Columbus Commons which consists of 12 garden plots totaling 24,000 square feet of planted space. This involved the organization and overseeing of volunteers and staff, planting and removal of seasonal color, the care (watering, fertilizing, and pruning) of all plants, care and maintenance of all tools, keeping records in accordance with Franklin Park's maintenance contract, and interaction with the public. Many of the garden plots at the Columbus Commons are planted over an underground parking garage and therefore act as intensive roof-top gardens. Key-holder position which is responsible for handling the day to day operations of the box office staff while also maintaining all of the needs of the box office, which includes, but is not limited to: opening/closing operations, keeping the safe count accurate and change in ready supply, and stocking all other needed materials.
