Research Intern
I am currently an intern at Chitkara University Research and Innovation Network (CURIN) under the guidance of Nitin Saluja sir. During my time here, I have had the opportunity to work on various innovative projects, one of which is BhuGoal, a weather nowcasting device developed in collaboration with CURIN and funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST).BhuGoal addresses the limitations of traditional weather updates, which often fail to provide timely or hyperlocal information. It uses signal fluctuations from TV screens connected through DTH boxes to detect weather changes in real-time, providing localized forecasts a few hours in advance. My role in this project was to lead the hardware development, including designing the circuit, printing the PCB, and programming the ESP32 microcontroller for accurate signal measurements.Another project I worked on was Foro, a device designed to detect fog density on roads, addressing the challenge of varying fog densities across locations. Using electromagnetic waves, we measured fog density in specific areas. These devices could be installed in cars, and with the help of cloud computing, real-time fog density data could be collected and shared, helping drivers navigate areas with high fog density safely. Both projects provided invaluable experience in hardware design and real-time environmental monitoring.
