My role at Thomas Group is to process weekly timesheets for around 70 self employed operators and ensure that they are paid correctly and customers are charged correctly using Sage 50/200 and Syrinx. I would provide cover for the payroll department and also process the contracting operators and employees that are paid weekly. I deal with any queries that operators may have about their wages and ensure they are paid correctly. I also help to keep track of holiday requests, ensuring that they are booked in and not using too many days. I am eager to learn more about the end to end process of payroll and am eager to continue my learning with you.On the Accounts side of my role at Thomas Group I would be responsible for two purchase ledgers. My role is to put invoices onto the system correctly and generate payment runs and pay them when invoices are due. I would also fleet up machinery that has been purchased so that contracts can be assigned to it. I have a small amount of experience with bank reconciliations, vat returns and credit controls allocation of payments coming in. I am willing to learn as much as I can as this industry is very new to me still but I'm enjoying it very very much.I previously worked in the catering industry for 9 years before which, I went to university to study business management at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Whilst at university I really enjoyed the HR and Administration modulesI went to college in Aberystwyth to study Catering and Hospitality. In my 3rd year of college we were taught supervisory roles and how to effectively run a restaurant. I have learnt how to work out profit margins and pricing of items on menus, health and safety laws and various other ways to run a restaurant. Alongside the kitchen part of the course I also studied front of house skills and have developed my customer service skills as I have grown.I've plenty of experience in stock management, ordering stock and taking deliveries. I am very comfortable using computers and like to think that I have an advanced knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office and various other programs I have stumbled across in my career. In my career I have developed outstanding communication, time management and organizational skills, making sure that kitchens run smoothly and that every dish is served when it's supposed to be and to the high standards that I set for myself, even the watermelon curry, which was an interesting success!
