Within this role I am required to organize inspection of the cranes, engine stands/pits. I’m in charge of making sure that all equipment/tools are calibrated, I also order in new tooling and tools for each section. Within the team I’m in we also get asked by other department leaders to help repair their equipment example oil rigs, lifting equipment and other equipment

I was given the great opportunity to work on the ventilator project, within this project I was working with the logistics team. This would involve organizing deliveries working with the team on the shop floor and making sure the work areas had all the right components and quantity, regularly doing stock audits. We would also remove the parts from the shop floor if they had quality issues with them and have them sent back to supplier to be reworked to the correct specification.

In my job, I am part of the structure team for the A400m Wings/Fuel Tanks. The following skills are required daily: drilling, reaming, bolting, electrical bonding, sealing and the set up of equipment for inspection. As part of the structures team, I am regularly involved in the set up of jigs and the assembly of the spars, ribs and covers of the wings, this is mostly composite work.Initial Airbus training, duration 3 weeks, has been completed. Airbus A400M Manufacturing Awareness Course, duration 2 days, has been completed.

After completing an Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering Level 3 Apprenticeship with GKN Aerospace, I was employed full-time with the company as an Air Frame Fitter. I work as part of the production team and produce aircraft frames, parts and assemblies as part of the Future Lynx helicopter contract. I am experienced in production skills such as drilling, riveting, reaming, electrical bonding, fasteners (hi-lites, solids, pop-rivets) and am confident working with sheet metal, composites and aircraft jigs.
