My initial role at IndustryMe was as a writer, where I would compose a few articles a week in the form of song/album reviews, news pieces, interviews, opinion pieces, and concert reviews. These would be compiled on WordPress using my writing skills to garner the best possible score on SEO. Compiling these articles involves researching the artist and reading through press releases from PR teams. Interviews involve speaking directly to the PR team and devising a time to speak with the artist (usually over Zoom), before recording and transcribing the interview. I work to set deadlines usually of a week, but in some cases a few days if the article is urgent. In December 2022, I received an award for Best Music Journalist at the Golden Halo Awards, against five other nominees.In June 2022, I took on the role of junior editor. This involves editing all the content of the website from myself and other writers. I use the email inbox to decide on the content to put out, as well as researching ideas and discussing these with the editor-in-chief. Content is suggested by messaging writers initially via a Slack group, before transferring over to What’s App, to decide who is covering which article. The role ensures that content is posted to the site on a regular basis ranging from 3-5 days a week. Once content goes out, I liaise with the PR teams. I am involved in the interview process for roles such as social media manager and writer, looking through applications to find suitable candidates and then arranging and partaking in Zoom interviews, before informing candidates of the outcome. This has resulted in building a writing team and hiring social media managers.

My position at this company was as a freelance writer, having initially written a few articles as a guest writer. These articles are written on a semi-regular basis involving news pieces, reviews, and interviews. Similar to my role at IndustryMe, this is done via WordPress and involves direct communication with the PR teams. This has ranged from individual pieces to collaboratory articles with other writers, which involves liaising with them on the content and when it goes on the website. As well as music-based content, I have also been involved in articles related to the Premier League. These pieces involve giving views and opinions on the latest matches, alongside other writers.
