Thomas Brascia is an attorney and Director of Health Services Technology at Cigna. In this role, he leads Express Scripts' Technology Growth & Intelligence organization. This strategy and intelligence group is comprised of various work streams aimed at understanding the healthcare marketplace, leading strategic initiatives, and the development of new technologies that gain a competitive advantage within the pharmacy benefits workspace.Before being hired by Cigna, Mr. Brascia worked in the consulting and legal fields, including years spent as a technology consultant, practicing corporate immigration law, and within the financial compliance space.Prior to these roles, Mr. Brascia served as both a researcher and as a published author within the regulatory compliance field. In 2014, he co-authored "International Commitment to Compliance Programs," and also attended the SCCE International Compliance and Ethics Academy in São Paulo, Brazil. Mr. Brascia has earned degrees in Political Science from John Cabot University and the University of Wales-Cardiff, and both a Juris Doctor and LL.M in Compliance and Ethics from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. In addition to his studies in Political Science and American Law, he has completed three years of coursework in both Philosophy and Italian Civil Law at The Pontifical University of St. John Lateran in Vatican City.Before moving back to the United States, Mr. Brascia lived in Italy for the better part of a decade both working and attending university. In Italy, he developed a keen interest in International Relations and wrote his senior thesis on Nuclear Proliferation and Non-State Actors. He is natively fluent in Italian and English and competent in several other languages. In his free time, Mr. Brascia enjoys surfing, high-altitude mountaineering, and teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
