I am currently in sales, I possess a solid background in logistics, industrial safety and leadership. I enjoy working with professional people. I am a hard worker, but I like to have a little fun on the job. Most importantly, I have a passion for challenges and problem solving.I grew up on a farm in Nampa, ID where I learned the value of hard work and the importance of industrial safety while operating heavy equipment. While in college, I worked for a tractor and implement dealership as a material handler and inventory auditor. Here I learned the invaluable skills of lift truck operation and inventory control. I also worked for a restaurant supply distribution company where I learned the basics of the trucking and warehouse industry. But the bulk of my experience came from my almost ten years with FedEx Express. It was there that my existing skills were honed and new skills and lessons were learned. As the HAZMAT and HAZ Spill coordinator I was required to learn regulations and procedures for both D.O.T. and I.A.T.A. One of the most valuable things I learned from my time there was the implementation of policy. You don’t get to be one of the most successful carriers in the world by having everyone do their own thing. It takes a solid policy, and training, to bring 50 to 100 individual people together to work in harmony to create a highly efficient, result driven, team that comes as near to perfection as one can get.My time in the sales arena has had no shortage of lessons either. In the last seven years I have learned to be a leader to the most difficult person I have ever had to deal with… myself. Independence and self motivation are two of the most valuable assets a salesman can possess. I’ve also learned the art of effective communication and people skills, not to mention humility and tenacity. Humility to admit to someone that I do not know the answer to their question and tenacity to go find the answer and not give up until I do.
