In my formative years, I worked in diverse roles for the hospitality industry, including dishwashing and short-order cooking. I excelled as a waiter for five years and as a bartender for two years. These professions enabled me to hone my organizational skills and the ability to think on my feet, qualities that proved instrumental in my subsequent career as a legal assistant.Transitioning from the restaurant and hospitality arena, I embarked on a journey with a prominent law firm in Los Angeles, initially joining as a photocopy clerk. I immediately set myself apart through the speed and precision with which I executed tasks, due to organizational abilities cultivated during my time in the service industry. I was soon promoted to the mailroom, and shortly thereafter became the firm's sole court calendaring clerk.Having consistently provided excellent, dependable service, I underwent specialized training within the firm and soon became a highly proficient legal assistant, supporting one to three attorneys concurrently, expertly drafting correspondence, preparing pleadings and legal documents, accurately calendaring court appearances, and handling a busy phone.My journey took an exciting turn in 2019 when I established a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit, Retroformat Silent Films, driven by my lifelong passion for early cinema. As the President of the Board for this organization, I have further refined my organizational skills through event coordination, fostering a keen attention to detail, and unveiling previously untapped leadership capabilities.
