Subject Leader For Mathematics
CurrentUniversity of Birmingham School is a state-funded secondary school for 11 - 18 year olds. As Subject Leader for Mathematics I manage a team of 11 Mathematics teachers in their delivery of our KS3, GCSE and A-level Maths curriculums, as well as our A-level Further Maths curriculum. My responsibilities include: planning and delivering high quality lessons to the classes I teach; monitoring the quality of teaching and learning in the Maths department and taking steps to improve this; overseeing the design and marking of summative and formative assessments; overseeing the development of the KS3, GCSE and A-level Maths curriculums; analysing student assessment data to identify trends and any individual students who require additional support.One of my biggest achievements in this role was the excellent GCSE results we achieved in Summer 2022; The progress 8 score for our year 11 students in Maths was +0.18.
