About Thomas Bonacci

I am a postdoctoral fellow at UNC Chapel Hill. I gained expertise in proteomics, molecular biology and protein biochemistry during my PhD which focused on how pancreatic cancer cells adapt and survive to chemotherapeutic drug treatment. During my postdoctoral training, I deepened my knowledge of cell proliferation by studying the regulation of cell division by the ubiquitin-proteasome system, with an emphasis on deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs). My current research interest is to understand (i) the role of DUBs in cell cycle control and (ii) how they are regulated by post-translational modifications, by using computational analysis of publicly available multiomics data.
