Hello my fellow LinkedIners, I'm Thomas. A Marketing & Design professional.Here's my journey:I went into university wide-eyed and ready to learn about the incredible world of Marketing. Little did I know that graduating with a 1:1 doesn't equal a corner office and a company Porsche.Its not been all doom and gloom. I started my marketing journey with an exciting online auctioneering company which had a refreshing approaching to delivering value to their customers. Here I really learnt that marketers are multi-tasking gurus and that marketers are only as good as the number of tabs they have open. After gaining valuable experience at the online auctioneering company, I went to a large B2B marketing agency. They worked with some incredible household names - including Microsoft, McKinsey, Tata Consultancy Services and The World Economic Forum. Yes, I was impressed too. So now you're thinking corner office and a company Ferrari, forget the Porsche right? Still no. But I can dream right. I can say I worked with some truly talented and incredible marketers here and this really sky-rocketed my knowledge and expertise. I even became the lead of the McKinsey operations account. I then moved back into the D2C world. I became the Social Media Director of a gaming/e-commerce brand. It was a huge career jump as you can imagine - and the imposter syndrome started following me like a lost dog. However after shaking this off and tapping into my experience and education I quickly got to grips with my role and ended up successfully growing the brand. (*Insert backflip*). It was at this point I knew I was in the right industry - and it got me thinking.Marketing and design crossover so often. Yet it's not the norm for marketers to be able to harness the creative power of dedicated design apps. So I set out to learn and use Adobe Suite Software. To be honest I had a better chance of climbing Everest. It was an absolute headache. But I got there in the end. My new design skill coupled with my marketing experience meant I could call myself an end to end marketer. From strategy all the way to analytics. These skills allowed me to grow my own personal brand. And now I have grown an Instagram community of marketers, designers, business owners and entrepreneurs who are looking to learn how to grow their brands too. FYI Its called @klexsolutionsofficial. And we don't discriminate even if you like Canva :).What's next for me?I just want to continue growing brands and have fun whilst doing it.
