I curate and manage 'Storehouse', a retail space where we sell artisan made clothing, accessories, homewares, lighting and furniture and represent many local fine artist. Under the 'Thomas James Burge' Artisan Styling banner I advise on personal styling and interiors, source and custom make homewares, lighting, furnishings and furniture and curate fine art, including hiring and commissions.

I developed and managed the Koonwarra Store, a regional fine food and wine store. Our focus was regional. seasonal and ethical food and wine delivered from an historic regional general store and surrounding gardens. We promoted the region and mentored local producers and makers through a contemporary daily menu, special events, producer focused events and community collaboration.I designed and developed the overall look of the venue and gardens, the seasonal menu, service ethos, the in house and locally made produce, and all events.

Initially I worked full time in fashion advertising, developing concepts and creating campaigns for clients such as Oroton, Fiorelli, Schwarzkopf, L'Oreal, The Queen Victoria Building and Skygarden.I completed further training whilst living and working in New York, returning to Sydney to freelance styling for magazines published by groups such as Australian Consolidated Press, Murdoch Magazines, John Fairfax Group, Howitz Group and Mason Stewart.During this time, I was also Fashion Editor for Studio Men, in house Stylist for Black & White Magazine, in house Stylist for David Jones and Lecturer at the National Art School, East Sydney. Whilst working with fashion icons and designers such as Elle McPherson, Sarah Murdoch, Peter Chadwick, Nikki Zimmermann, Alex Perry, Wayne Cooper and Jayson Brunsdon.
