CurrentI'm an aerospace engineer. I was lucky enough to work for General Dynamics back in '79-'80 and witnessed many rocket launches from the radar station right near the launch pads at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA. I worked at NASA AMES Research Center in the SF Bay Area in '81. I worked for Rockwell International's Autonetics Division in 1982. From April of 1983 to June of 1995, I was an engineer at the Space Division of Rockwell International in Downey, CA. I worked on the Space Shuttle, and spent many weeks down in Houston working with the astronauts at the Johnson Space Center. John Young, one of only 12 men who have ever walked on the Moon, spent several hours with me in the Shuttle Engineering Simulator in Bldg 16 as we checked out my new flight software to help automate contingency aborts. That was a highlight of my working life. All the Shuttle astronauts I knew were terrific people too. Since June of 1995, I have worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. I work spacecraft operations for the Cassini mission, currently in orbit around Saturn. I am the team lead for the attitude control subsystem. We make sure the scientists don't break the spacecraft.
