As a licensed Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) in New Jersey, Tom keeps up with the NJ septic code and enjoys close working relationships with local regulators in local and county health depts. as well as the NJDEP. Tom regularly conducts short presentations in realtor offices during their sales meetings and has also given 90 minute presentations on topics such as: SEPTIC SYSTEM OPTIONS IN THE CURRENT HOUSING MARKET, SEPTIC SYSTEM BASICS FOR REALTORS and HOW RECENT CHANGES IN THE NJ SEPTIC CODE AFFECT THE REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY. On June 27 and 28, 2012, Tom was the co-cordinator of the first ever Septic Inspectors Training Class through Rutgers in New Jersey. The second training class for Septic System Inspectors was given on June 20 and 21, 2013 to a sold-out class room. 1/3 of the group were REHS's and HO's which demonstrates that Health Depts. are trying to become familiar with the NJDEP inspection requirements and reports. Tom is currently developing a basic course about septic systems for Realtors, at Rutgers (for continuing ed. credits).Tom recently (Feb. 1,2013) became certified as an (Advanced) Installer of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems through NEHA (National Environmental health Association).
