I managed a team of AmeriCorps members from diverse backgrounds as they provide whole school service to students in Math, Literacy, Behavior and Attendance. I also worked to strengthen and develop partnerships with school administration, community based organizations, and corporate sponsors by ensuring they receive high quality services.My day-to-day focus was on coaching and supporting AmeriCorps members through professional development, observational debriefs, and performance management, and in overseeing the collection and analysis of student data to ensure quality services are being provided.I also ensured successful implementation of a SONYC after school program with an enrollment of 65+ students, in order to exceed all Department of Youth and Community Development metrics around program quality and rate of participation.

Team Leader – Bronx Urban Community School (I.S. 123X)My role provided the opportunity to supervise, coach and support the development of twelve AmeriCorps Members through feedback and training both in-school and after school. In-School responsibilities included facilitating assessments, school-wide data collection, and observations of Corps Members to improve programming implementation and meet organizational goals. In the After-School space, I oversaw the implementation of New York City's SONYC After School program through attendance monitoring, behavior management, and ensuring student safety during academic enrichment and recreational activities. Additionally, my team and I supported the Community Schools initiatives at I.S. 123X by working with the school community and stakeholders to improve school climate, parent engagement, and promote positive student growth in attendance and behavior.

I completed a full-time AmeriCorps service term (1700 hours) with a team of 15 volunteers that focused on academic, behavioral, and attendance support at a middle school (I.S. 123X) in the South Bronx. During the school day I supported whole class instruction in Math for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, tracking student progress for specific students and facilitating small-group interventions to further support their growth in academics, attendance, and social-emotional learning. In the After-School space, I worked with my team to provide structured programming 5 days a week for 107 students as part of the "School's Out New York City" (SONYC) initiative. Our program included daily homework support and enrichment clubs that focused on facilitation of STEM topics, leadership opportunities, and athletic programming. I also served as the Assistant Coach for our basketball team as part of the DYCD/Nike Zoom Basketball Academy, which offered 12 middle school students additional physical, mental, and social development opportunities as part of a team and city-wide basketball league.Additionally, I was chosen by my teammates to represent I.S. 123X at the site's monthly "Corps Council" meetings. This provided the opportunity to share best practices, provide feedback to the site on my team's experiences, and lead educational initiatives on topics most-important to my fellow AmeriCorps Members.

I served as an undergraduate and graduate research assistant under Dr. Jongguen Lee, working with Dr. Lee and fellow graduate students on research projects in the areas of combustion dynamics and acoustics. My responsibilities included: - Assisting in the design and creation of computational and physical experiments - Implementing and completing data collection and analysis for combustion experiments - Collating and sharing results/proposals at weekly meetings with lab and industry partnersI transitioned from an undergraduate to graduate research assistant role in May of 2015.

My responsibilities and projects as an Engineering Co-Op included: - Programming and optimizing robots to increase production flexibility - Evaluating and correcting production processes to reduce scrap/rework parts - Designing a CNC program to create an EDM fixture - Working with Value Stream Engineering teams on VSE, CI, and 6S projectsCo-Op rotation dates:September through December 2012May through August 2013January through April 2014
