I am the Interim Engineering Manager due to the previous Manager leaving. I am Duty holder for the Electrical Systems in the plant, I am Authorised for HV Switching, CompEx Trained, Laser Safety Officer and completed ILM3 as well as multiple other Siemens PLC courses and Gates internal learning.I have been involved in various major upgrades to the plant as well as bringing in new technology, including Robotic equipment. I have also been in the position where I have had to step in and get projects to completion. I am also able to remotely support the facility, to the level of looking at machine code remotely to assist the Shift Engineers.My experience of multiple different types of machinery has served me well and I am a Subject Matter Expert with regards to Engineering. I am very aware of Safety and have been on many occasions also asked about Steam Vessel Safety and what is the optimum level other facilities should try and achieve.The Engineering Team I am in charge of 25 Engineers/Electricians/ Fitters, we cover the whole Dumfries Facility.I started work as a Day Rota Electrician in the old factory in 1987, before moving onto 24 hour shifts when I moved to the new Power Transmission factory. I moved to a Staff based position in 2011 as Electrical Engineer, before moving to Senior Engineer.
