This is a challenging role which is extremely rewarding however can also be extremely dark. Although I advise and oversee all aspects of this work I specialise in combating the illegal trade in endagered species.Through this role I also have an active role in the Force response to rural crime and oversee all incidents of livestock worrying. I am responsible for training Sussex Police Wildlife Crime Officers providing initial training and also ongoing training.I work closely with partner organisations including the National Wildlife Crime Unit, Natural England, National Farmers Union, The South Downs National Park Authority, The Marine Management Organisation, Sussex Inshore Fisheries Conservation Agency to name but a few. Within my response role I am responsible for a team of 12 Constables working in West Sussex. I am extremely proud of the work of my team and owe much of our successes to their drive and tenacity.
