As an associate at Jones Day, I advise and represent corporate policyholders in domestic and international insurance recovery disputes. I have particular experience litigating coverage under standard commercial general liability policies and arbitrating coverage disputes arising under the Bermuda form. I also have experience with pollution and contractors environmental liability forms. I’ve successfully represented large insurance companies in litigation involving the secondary payer provisions in federal Medicare statutes and regulations. My practice has also touched on toxic tort litigation, products liability, class actions, the federal False Claims Act (FCA), contract disputes, and business torts.I maintain an active pro bono practice in cases involving religious liberty claims.Before joining Jones Day, I clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.I graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School, where I received honors for the highest grade in four classes and was selected to the Dean’s List several times. I was also selected for the Order of the Coif (top 10% of graduating class) after graduation. At Vanderbilt, I served as a Notes Editor on the Vanderbilt Law Review. My Note—“Kicking and Screaming: Promotion and Relegation as a Solution to Major League Soccer’s Anticompetitive Closed Model”—was published in the Sports Lawyers Journal. I graduated summa cum laude from Hope College with a degree in Political Science, where I was inducted into both Phi Beta Kappa Society and Pi Sigma Alpha. I also served as captain of Men's Varsity Soccer and President of the Pre-Law Society. During my time at Hope, I interned in Washington, D.C., worked on a congressional campaign, conducted collaborative research with professors, and received political science departmental awards as well as athletic conference honors.
