SPRINT spun off their Local Telephone Division and branded to EMBARQ] Applications Developer II/Domain Quality ExpertJoined the PSAR (Production Support and ABEND Recovery) team providing 24/7 oncall ABEND Recovery support on multiple critical path mainframe production systems, while simultaneously training/mentoring offshore EDS employees (Brazil and Argentina) on these EMBARQ applications and recovery procedures.Joined the IT Network Organization for Special Development projects. Developed programs utilizing a DB/2 interface to GUI front end input/inquiry screens to the Trouble Order System that gave real time edits to data entry personnel while allowing for inquiry and report generation.

Developed and implemented new software and enhancements for the Local Sprint Division in support of their billing and message processing systems, resulting in a customer bill quality of 99.8%.Implemented enhancements and complete subsystem rewrites (e.g. IntraLata Settlements for Indiana/Ohio) to comply with individual state Public Service Commission mandates.Inspected and tested code modifications made to multiple systems for "Year 2000" compliance resulting in Sprint systems being "Y2K certified" by the end of 1998.Implemented many projects to bring about local competition to the market assuring Sprint compliance with the 1996 Telecommunications Act. Designed, developed and implemented custom software solutions for Sprint's largest Local Division customer for cost reporting and accounting of all their internal telecommunications (in-coming and out-going) discouraging the customer from bypassing the Sprint Local network in favor of another carrier.

Awarded the 1988 Meritorious Individual Service Award for AT&T WATS takeback project (a direct result of the federal break up of Bell).Fulfilled United Telecommunication's corporate contract commitments with AT&T by implementing changes that allowed AT&T to (piecemeal) take back their WATS rating, WATS recording and finally WATS billing.Implemented WATS mechanization allowing for detailed billing of WATS usage as well as allowing for the performance of WATS usage studies, that allowed the regulatory department to better justify their tariff filings to the Public Service Commission for rate increases. Promoted to Software Engineer III in 1981

Given exclusive software responsibility for the Installment Loan, Mortgage Loan, Payroll, Master Charge and Safe Deposit Box Systems. Provided continuous on-call production support for each of these systems.
