CurrentProvide all Local Area Network (LAN) administrative functions for the LANs within assigned area utilizing the most current CBP LAN Administrator’s guide, CBP LAN Standards guide and CBP Security Manual as references. These functions include, but not limited to, managing accounts and performing LAN maintenance. I am able to use critical thinking skills including judgment, initiative and resourcefulness to specific problems and to improve operations of existing systems. Provide support for all LAN-based software and client server applications incorporated within the CBP LAN standards. Trouble shoot client based operating systems along with any WEB based and server based applications. Support messaging systems within scope of responsibility. Work with supporting hardware and peripheral equipment. Consult with management on COOP and future direction of IT in AOR. Implement OIT tested software applications accepted for CBP use, review current documentation and implement new software versions and patches within specified time constraints. Provide specialized program and project support of LAN applications that have either completed the SDLC process or received appropriate waivers. Ensure Compliance with CBP security policy for all systems within assigned area. Identify and report hardware failures to the technical services center including follow up with the appropriate department to ensure that resolutions of hardware and software problems are provided in a timely manner. Utilize trouble ticket system to track all work performed. Complete and submit required reporting activities as assigned. Consult and provide knowledge transfer to less experienced personnel and end users.
