Utilized lithologic, hydrochemical, microbiological, paleohydrologic, and geophysical data to develop conceptualization of site groundwater flow, resulting in Master’s Thesis. Developed reports for remediation of site groundwater by monitored natural attenuation (MNA) and site inactive wastewater ponds/UST closure. Developed MNA perched zone groundwater source control measures. Trained junior personnel in field investigations, drilling of exploratory borings, and monitoring well design/installation.

Interacted extensively with Chilean professional staff and drilling contractors as rotating sole company field representative. Collected hydrological data to evaluate interaction between fractured bedrock mine groundwater source and overlying alluvial residential groundwater source.

Designed groundwater monitor well network in accordance with Arizona Aquifer Protection Permit regulations to monitor process metal concentrations in site perched groundwater. Designed Phase III subsurface soil investigation and evaluated source area conditions, vadose zone/groundwater contaminant pathways and remedial options. Evaluated the effects of rainfall and site/vicinity surface water patterns on groundwater gradient and direction. Provided hydrogeological guidance to established consulting firm. Evaluated company personnel and technological approach to groundwater projects. Project scope was extremely broad and involved soil and groundwater characterization/remediation, and privately-owned hazardous landfill construction. Responsible for extensive hydrogeological interpretation, conceptualization of groundwater flow systems and supervising the development of a multi-aquifer numerical groundwater flow model. Responsible for supervising staff and drillers in the application of American environmental field methods and techniques. Developed and directed numerous soil/groundwater characterization programs, managed multi-site groundwater sampling program, designed groundwater/soil vapor monitoring and extraction well networks, designed and supervised multi-aquifer tests. Supervised group staff on soil characterization and excavation closure sampling programs in response to project Operations and Engineering Groups needs.

Created ore body cross-sections and all bedrock topographic maps for Sleeper gold prospect.
