About Thomas Dobbeleers
With a MSc applied industrial sciences - biochemistry in 2012, I obtained a IWT-SB (PhD) fellowship in 2013 at UAntwerpen (BioWave). My PhD topic was situated in the field of (industrial) biological wastewater treatment with as main aim, combining innovative nitrogen removal (via nitritation-denitritation) and aerobic granular sludge. In early 2018, I successfully defended the PhD thesis Afterwards we obtained a VLAIO-IM mandate in order to facilitate and valorise (continuous) aerobic granular sludge system towards industry. Meanwhile I was teaching two courses at the department of applied industrial sciences (UAntwerpen) and coaching MSc and PhD students.Since september 2023 i'm working as a proces engineer at Aquafin NV. It gives me the opportunity to work on municipal wastewater, even more technologies and to contribute to clean watercourses.
