As a Program Mentor & Cultural Liaison for UROP International at RWTH Aachen University, I played a pivotal role in supporting and guiding a diverse group of participants from prestigious universities across the United States and Canada. After having participated in the program in 2023, I was invited back to mentor the 2024 cohort.Provided ongoing mentorship and support to 50 participants, ensuring they had a successful and enriching experience while navigating the challenges of living and studying abroad.Organized and led 24 cultural and recreational excursions across 12 weeks, designed to enhance participants’ understanding and appreciation of German culture.Facilitated weekly team meetings with colleagues to address immediate concerns, collaboratively plan upcoming activities, and ensure the well-being of all participants.Actively engaged in group communications, fostering an inclusive and positive environment where participants felt supported and encouraged to thrive.This role allowed me to blend leadership with cultural exchange, contributing to the personal and professional growth of the next generation of researchers.
