The Poodle was the caberet room on the lobby floor, better known as the legendary Boom Boom Room where Sinatra and gang hung out back in the day. Room was jammed with celebs every night through the season, I was the maitre'd door kid in the black tux with his hand out. Champs Larry Holmes and Tommy Hearns, entertainers Lou Rawls, Peter Frampton, Kim Carnes, Mandrells, Paul Schaffer before he was Paul Schaffer, along with an assortment of tired working girls, vice squad, and well dressed gangsters were guest. My formative years indeed where Club 1235 found me.
