In these roles as a homebound tutor, I predominantly work with middle and high school students who are out of school due to illness or disciplinary reasons. I collaborate with the classroom teachers, guidance counselors and parents to coordinate the missing class work, instruct the student and administer assessment. I am experienced working with special education and students on 504 plans and implementing their individualized education plan. My support often entails securing or creating supplemental teaching materials when needed. I provide instruction in all math, science, English, history classes at all levels, including advanced placement.

In this role I support students with their academics to help bolster their performance and often relieve anxiety or foster increased motivation. Must assess the student’s needs to provide appropriate targeted instruction depending on current skills, knowledge gaps, as well as learning style
