Responsible on an ongoing basis for creating and implementing new programming strategies such as appreciation talks and special trips to private collections and embassies that promote the museum to new audiences and preserve the dedication of longtime museum members.• Produce workshops and professional development for DC area teachers• Conceive and produce the museum’s annual lecture series in conjunction with exhibitions on contemporary textiles, Central Asian and, Southeast Asian and Central African textiles • Produce the museum’s scholarly fall symposia and conferences that explore topics ranging from contemporary Japanese fashion to 19th century Central Asian silks to Central African textiles• Lead the redesign and updating of the museum’s 8000 square-foot interactive textile learning center for students funded by an IMLS grant and opened in 2018• Managed a full-time assistant from 2015 to 2017, now promoted• Managed docent training and recruitment from 2008 to 2015• Engage DC’s public-school students and teachers through participating in Arts for Every Student program funded by the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative Show less
