Sr. Consultant with Surepower Consulting Co. Primary focus is Dominion Voltage (DVI) EDGE Volt Var Optimization deployment for 144 feeders at GWP after implementing a successful pilot in 2014. Other current project involvements on this engagement include ACS Outage Management, major upgrades to the Itron AMI systems IEE MDM and OpenWay Collection Engine, AMI integration testing between a new Enterprise Service Bus and AMI collection service subscriptions.

Sr. Project Manager with UtiliWorks Consulting Co. with responsibility as PM and/or technical Technical Consultant on various AMI Smart Grid projects. My duties involve RFP development and review, vendor selection, technical consulting on MDM, AMI and CIS systems, setup and configuration, system integration, business process change recommendations, meter configurations for electric, water and gas, master file setup , TOU schedules setup. Also, experienced in Load Control devices and software systems to enact LC control programs.

Greater Los Angeles Area

Worked to reconfigure and integrate a new Itron system with IEE, OpenWay, SaveSource and NorthStar CIS systems. Created and tested various Validation Sets and implemented VEE (validation, editing and estimation). Implemented several meter configuration changes to meter groups on the production OpenWay system. Set up Aggregation, implemented Gap Fill, supported various departments within the utility, wrote SOPs for customers knowledge base, reworked the meter configurations and systematically worked to isolate and correct a huge backlog of meter and system problems preventing the smooth operation and processing of meter data impacting several thousand electric and water meters.

Baltimore, Maryland Area

Set up an electric & gas test lab of 600 meters at BGE in Baltimore for testing meter functionalities and compatibility with the BGE Smart Grid system. Created and tested the meter configurations for all the new BGE electric meters. My testing exposed several major deficiencies requiring meter firmware modifications. Tested all of the SilverSpring field tools, corresponding software and the UIQ head end system for compliance with BGE specifications. Advised on the creation and content of the SAT & SIT testing methods for overall system acceptance. Worked with Accenture Consulting to test the security of the hardware and of the system overall.

Working on AMI projects at Robins Air Base, Tinker Air Base, Goodfellow Air Base and most lately the Potomac Region of the US NAVY in and around Washington, DC. My role was everything from site survey to meter installation and commissioning of the meters including setup of meters on the database, troubleshooting failed equipment, creating and testing the meter programs.

Through this small company I've worked mostly on a contract basis on various metering projects including those with Itron in Calgary and Ontario Canada. I've contracted directly with various utilities, coops and munis to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot MV-90 computer systems and provide technical metering support. I've also owned and operated several small businesses outside of the metering industry since leaving Ameren Services in 1998.

Managed Electric Meter Lab comprised of MV-90 Meter Data Center, High Voltage Glove Test Facility, Meter Test and Repair Shop along with Meter Reading support group encompassing 33 district offies and MV-RS reading system.Managed company wide project to install new meter reading system.CIPS team lead for integration of meter data into new Customer One billing system.Managed projects to replace various mechanical metering systems in CIPS territory with new technology utilizing high speed wireless communication.Pioneered the use of cellular technology for meter data retrieval.
