CurrentThomas H. Davis practices in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Division. Tom is member of the Product Liability Practice Group and of the Insurance Practice Group. He has more than thirty years of litigation experience in the areas of product liability, insurance, personal injury and business litigation. He has significant trial and appellate experience in both state and federal courts. Tom has defended clients against product liability and negligence claims, including toxic tort and chemical exposure cases. Tom has extensive experience with fire and explosion litigation on behalf of natural gas and propane companies, as well as appliance and equipment manufacturers. Tom consults with manufacturers of consumer products about their warning programs and preventative risk management strategies. He also has extensive experience regarding insurance coverage disputes involving claims of bad faith, general liability and contractors' liability insurance policies.Representative Experience •Tried lawsuits in state and federal courts in Missouri, Kansas, Alabama, Colorado, Illinois, Idaho, Louisiana, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Washington; Argued appeals before the Missouri Supreme Court, Missouri Court of Appeals, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Tenth Circuits, and Texas Court of Appeals; •Led the defense of complex catastrophic personal injury suits and complex commercial disputes; •Mediated commercial and personal injury lawsuits before court-appointed and party-selected mediators, and negotiated resolutions to multi-million dollar claims; •Led and coordinated investigations into accidents, fires and explosions involving significant personal injury and property damage. •Defended declaratory judgment, garnishment and contract actions involving insurance coverage and claims of bad faith.
