I have 19 years experience working in the retail industry. I have spent time as both an entry level associate as well as 10 years as an account manager where I was head of all retail operations within the account I was assigned to. The work was fast paced and ever changing, challenging me eventually with managing two merchandising teams, one during the daytime hours and the other remotely at night, with weekly check ins of course. This led to developing and recognizing highly skilled lead associates being that I worked days yet was expected to run at a productive level a team of people without being on site all of the time. I handled all of the payroll and scheduling for anywhere from 10-20 associates at a given time, also coordinating large scale resets and store remodels within the Meijer gorcery stores, working closely with store management and store directors in the third party independent contractor capacity. This entails challenges of its own and the development of healthy relationships with store management.
