Application developer - Test AutomationDesign, development, bring-up, debug and ramp of a multi-up functional test platform. The finished product capable of testing up to 15 unique consumer set-top-boxes asynchronously. Each functional test sequence is highly automated to minimize operator error. Test Engineering Associate Celestica, Toronto, May 2014 - August 2015Test Engineering:• Developed functional test systems for commercial and consumer electronics. Wasresponsible for technical hardware and software development, project management, procurement, shipping and receiving, and training on delivered solutions.Site Automation:• Actively involved programming and debugging collaborative robotic arms in a so-lar panel manufacturing line. Routinely checked in with line operators to address any performance issues and listen to feedback. Worked in a secure lab to develop new automation methods to later be introduced on the PCB masking and Solar assembly line.• Responsible for the mechanical design of various end of arm tools to serve as robotic manipulators. Regularly worked with a specialist in the on-site machine shop to have my designs manufactured.• Automated a pick and place component on the solar factory assembly to replace three human operators. The application placed bus bars on panels to +/- 1mm accuracy and only required an operator to refill the bus bars once a shift.• Developed a dynamic label placement application using a machine vision system to interface over TCP/IP with a robotic arm. The robot controller reads label position and type data from a text file, picks up a label using a suction cup from an appropriate dispenser, and places it on a circuit board. The vision system ensures the label is centred on the end of arm tool and feeds back any proportional offset error so the arm can make adjustments. Required accuracy was +/- 0.1mm.
