God has been the most important thing in my life for the past forty+ years. In 1968 during the Viet Nam war I found myself praying to God very often, asking God what I should do to make myself a valuable part of God's work in this world. I knew I had taken wrong turns and I wanted to set them straight. God began to answer me in dynamic and profound ways, culminating in a Iowa cornfield when I was laying in the mud beneath a school bus installing a starter. The bus had inside it several of my Christian friends from Thompson's Ranch in the Joshua Tree National Monument in California. We prayed together many times every day as we traveled. A bolt of Lightning hit the bus and traveled through everyone and then went through me into the mud. Dan was looking at me at the moment and he said he could SEE THROUGH ME. I was translucent blue. After the lightning strike I wandered back and forth to Canada speaking with people about the war and about God. This was my mission from God. In 1971 The FBI captured me and put me in prison for my resistance of the war effort. There was a long haired doctor in prison, himself evading the draft by working with the prison system. He pulled me aside and whispered to me that he had overheard the guards saying that they were planning to kill me. See - most of the guards had retired from the military on full pension, and were now earning salaries as prison guards. They fully backed the American military and considered me a real bad guy. One they needed to kill. The Doctor convinced me to accept his plan to get me out of prison. I had a six year sentence. I prayed about it and agreed to his plan. This was largely how it was that I was released with all charges dropped after one and a half years inside. I went back to hitchhiking around America... LinkedIn tells me this essay is way too long.
