As the Fullwood Packo Group R&D Concern Management Engineer, I play a key role in the development and maintenance of the Fullwood Packo Merlin automated milking machine range.From the business UK headquarters I work closely with our wider business to understand the needs from the field in order to accurately develop products to meet the market needs and identify future requirements.Working as part of a skilled engineering team, I manage and complete the analysis, development and testing of both corrective solutions and product developments.My role includes but is not limited to;-Act as lead point of contact for OEM Group R&D Concern Management-Organise, manage and carryout software, electrical and mechanical development work-Carryout both in-house and field root cause investigatory and test work-Manage Issue Tracking document and produce test reports-Liaise with Customer support functions to understand customer needs-Chair meetings with customers to discuss concerns and improvement projects at UK and European sites as well as remotely when required-Work with internal purchasing department to resolve component change and obsolescence issues-Provide Monthly project reports to company board, senior stake holders and customers-Lead R&D and business internal process improvement projects.

Working as the site CI and Project Engineer I have played a crucial role in making substantial savings and adding value to the business. Driving culture change, promoting lean values and providing engineering solutions I always remain approachable and professional and strive to meet the customers requirements effectively and punctually.As a CI and Project engineer my duties include but are not limited to:-Lead multiple CI Projects across departments from concept to completion -Work closely with CI teams to manage change and develop site Lean culture-Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations and provide coaching and training-Drive energy saving initiatives across site, highlighting potential cost saving initiatives and project-Manage external contractors maintaining working relations and controlling budgets-Collect, analyse and display data from various sources to site production and engineering teams -Utilise Maintenance Management Systems to control and initiate working systems-Issue clear and thorough reports and review with senior management.

Making the transition from Serviceman to Civilian I joined ABP as a Maintenance Engineer at the flagship site in Ellesmere, Shropshire working in a brand new process area, part of a £30M development. I was quickly promoted to Engineering Supervisor, responsible for up to 5 Engineers of varying skill levels. Utilising my communication and organizational skills I formed and supervised an effective team enabling the business to grow into it's new site. My duties included but were not limited to:-Manage and carry out planned maintenance on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems-Respond rapidly to equipment breakdowns at short notice in an extremely demanding FMCG environment-Carry out with PLC and software fault diagnostics-Prioritise reactive work to maintain production-Manage and develop team members-Liaise with production management to manage relations and develop communications-Provide progress reports to senior engineering management daily and assist with maintenance forecasts-Assist with budget management to meet company KPI’s within financial constraints-Carry out risk assessment of daily tasks and ensure Safe Systems of Work compliance.

I have worked both on board and supporting HM Submarines as a Leading Engineering Technician in a first line management role. Working closely with both military and civilian staff my responsibilities included but were not limited to;- Plan, manage and execute electrical/mechanical preventative maintenance. - Supervise and execute electrical/mechanical defect diagnosis and repair to meet demanding deadlines.- Prioritise conflicting work and organise logistical requirements. - Act as a direct subject matter expert and liaison to civilian contractor staff.- Provide written and verbal reports to senior management and external authorities. - Manage Junior team members, providing training and career development.- Lead torpedo preparation and firing operations. - Organise and co-ordinate training and safe handling of explosive materials and pyrotechnics. - Manage department administration and documentation. - Supervise high pressure system operations. - Ensure all safe systems of work procedures are adhered to.- Enable HM Submarines to meet tight deadlines and maintain operational capability in demanding environments internationally working alongside a civilian work force.- Ensure safety of military and civilian personnel.
