A Team Leader Communications Specialist on specialized communications vehicle, (Toad #1) that is part of Arizona's State Wide Emergency System. It is used to assist in interoperability of emergency communications and deploys as needed. During large emergency events; we have the ability to interconnect communications between mufti-agencies, who are on different radio frequencies. I am one of the Communication Team Leaders and recently Red Card certified for operations in the hot zone area of Wild-land fires. As part of a Mohave County Emergency Management Division Communication Unit we are presently doing an experimental project, to use GPS / Radio tracking to help pin point the location of Wild-land Firefighter Crews. We hope our effort will help prevent the future loss of Wild-land firefighter's. Remembering the "Granite Mountain 19".
