"When you've seen one case in this business, you've seen one case." That description of litigation motivated me to become a trial lawyer and I've never looked back in regret. I joined Baird Holm more than forty years ago, another decision about which I have no regrets. I started as a law clerk while still attending Creighton University Law School. From there I became an associate attorney in the firm and, in 1979, a partner. My practice has always involved commercial litigation. Over the years, I gravitated toward complex technical and medical issues which I very much enjoy and which provided me the opportunity to learn a wide variety of industries and businesses from the inside out ranging from academic (research) medicine to hospitals and health care to nuclear power to meat packing. My career at Baird Holm has provided me the opportunity to try cases in the federal and state courts not only in Nebraska but also in cities and towns from New York to Chicago to San Francisco to Houston to Miami and many, many places in between. Those cases have sometimes involved high-profile issues or clients leading to aired interviews on ABC World News Tonight, CNN and in local media. I am listed in The Best Lawyers in America®, Great Plains Super Lawyers (© 2013) and in Chambers USA, America's Leading Lawyers for Business (© 2013), but am most proud of having been named a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers because it is recognition by my peers.With each passing year, I find myself more enthused to continue this wonderful profession and less interested in retirement. I plan to continue so long as God grants me the mind and good health to do so.
